Main Stage of Advík 2025

In this article, you will find basic information about what to expect in terms of the stage, lights, projections, and how to work with all of it. This applies to you if you're going to Advík to compete, participate in panels, or have other performances in the main hall.

Projection Surfaces

LED Wall

The LED wall measures 11x4 meters with a resolution of 2816x1024 (P3.9) and is placed directly behind the stage. It will be in operation during the NXFaktor competition, KPOP Cover Contest, Miss Advík, Cosplay Contest, and also during the Širó and Demons performance. As part of the competitions, contestants can prepare their own background image or video.

Projection

Next to the stage, our screen will also be placed, with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 1920x1200. During competitions where the LED wall is used, the projection screen will show footage from our cameras capturing the stage. For panels and lectures, the projection can be used for either cameras or presentations (and it's possible to switch between them), so please consider what will provide greater benefit to the audience.

LIGHTS

Below, you will find a basic description of the types of lights used for stage lighting.

FLOOD

Flood lights provide basic illumination of the scene. Especially when using the LED wall, anything on the stage will just be a black silhouette against the background. Up on the truss, we have 6x 200W LED lights available, which will illuminate the stage even through the LED wall. It's possible to choose between cool, warm, and neutral light.

WASH

While flood lights provide basic lighting, washes add color to the scene, making it possible to give the stage a colorful tint. At the edges of the stage, there will be several LED-PAR lights providing a colored outline, and two intelligent heads will illuminate the scene from the truss. The RGB raster up top can also be used as a wash light.

SPOT

Spot lights serve to illuminate an actor or object on the stage and to draw the audience's attention to a specific spot. We have 5x Showtec Phantom available (1x250, 2x LED50 MarkII, 2x LED65). Each can create a circle on the stage. For stable light, the spots use only a white lamp or LED, adjusted further with color filters—it's not possible to mix RGB colors like with other lights. They also allow for projecting patterns (gobo) and splitting into multiple beams (prism), which can be used to create disco effects.

We will have several predefined positions on the stage where spots can be aimed, so if you want to use them, you need to stand there or place your props there. It's not possible to use follow spot functions.

How to Describe a Lighting Scene?

For the entire Advík, we have over 60 performers across all competitions, so it's not possible to create complicated lighting setups for every performance. However, lighting transitions and the use of effects are possible. The video or background image is entirely up to you.Think about how much flood light you need; we assume most scenes will be at maximum, but in some cases, it makes sense to have no lights (shadow dancing in front of the LED, illuminating the performer purely with a spot). Think about the color scheme of the scene (wash). If you want to use effects (strobe, disco lights), think about their color.

Here is an example description of a scene:

[Start] Completely in the dark.

[00:00] Spot illuminates character 1 in blue.

[00:20] Spot illuminates character 2 in red.

[00:40] Characters clash, flood to half, strobe effects for the fight. Tuned to orange.

[01:00] Characters start dancing together, flood to max, disco lights tuned to light yellow.

[01:45] Calming the scene to purple.
